Hi Michelle, how are you? From what I’ve heard that seems to be about normal. Do you have a chain wear measuring thingy? That is useful to determine when to replace the chain, and you should be able to get 2-3 chains per cassette. OTOH my rear hub Specialized goes through about 1 cassette in 15,000kms.

I think you would be noticed on a Stealth. Ironic that eh?

Hi Leanne, did you end up making a decision?

My own experience suggests that after a 15km ebike ride you will probably still want to take a shower. In summer, just the fact that you are moving your legs will get you in a lather, and in winter, there is a high chance of getting wet. My advice is to accept the inevitable and assume that you need to change (plus/minus a shower) at the other end.

There are a few that I have written up:

Timber trail is my favourite. Suits eMTB

The river trail along the Waikato (Te Awa) – suitable for all bikes

Far North Twin Coast trail – light duty MTB

In Auckland, the ‘Coasts and Cones’ ride – any bike

            Napier and the Hawke’s Bay

Then there are sections of the Waikato River Trails (eMTB although some sections are less technical), Ohakune Old Coach Rd, Fisher Track, 42 Traverse, Bridge to Nowhere, Great Lake Taupo, Motu Trails, Remutaka. I hope to ride and write these up some time.
